I died on my first try. On my second attempt, I bought some upgrades (mostly for firepower and damage) and beaten the game without using a continue. It is possible to 1CC without upgrades though!

I finally beaten the game with five Kurses today! I got this while I was traveling.

When I beat EX&Retro (continues allowed) with Type-C ship for the first time, it stacks three achievements:
● Purple devil - TYPE C ALL Clear
● space daren - clear area F EX mode
● Super max - clear area F EX&Retro mode

I almost 1CC EX&Retro mode; I died at the very last pattern of final boss. ☹️ I'll try again at some point.

During the clean-up, I played and beaten the new stage added by patch. Afterwards, I replay the difficulty on Normal with TYPE-C ship, as the option's projectile can reveal the hidden cats way easier than using the ship's special attack.
